RELIEF FROM THE SQUALOR OF DUBAI??
After all that whining about the boredom I experienced during my Dubai stay, it was but natural that I was looking to India to bail me out.. There's this whole battalion down at chennai, comprising my mom's family from Singapore, US and Dubai.. If during the day is bad, during the night is absolutely terrible.. 11 full(and more!!) grown people trying desperately to fit into the only AC room in the house, a miniscule 15*12(or so my mom tells me) room, and individuality comes to te fore, each displaying a wide gamut of sleeping disorders.. Whether it's rolling furiously from side to side, screeching intelligible phrases while in deep slumber or operatic snoring (intermittent snoring culminating in a fearsome crescendo, only to start the rigmarole all over again)..
12 bombings, one dastardly day..(5 in srinagar)..The day threw up a lot of questions, none of which have been answered. Has anything been done about the root cause of terror? Should India go the Israel way in combatting terror? Should we let old pansies lead us? Is it time to infuse some young blood into politics? Endless rhetoric and speech making are not going to solve the problem.. The cancellation of secretary level talks is not going to affect anyone.. The time has come for drastic measures, the issue is, are we prepared to take them? It is now the terrorists who decide when, where and how they want to strike.. Truly a sorry state of affairs..
Also, the government decides to block blogs.. Haven't heard of a more laughable piece of news in months.. One thing it does prove is that the influence of the written word is growing like never before, a heartening trend.. But the action taken by the government seems to be reactionary in nature.. The China way is the direction government policy seems to be taking... Is the opening of the Nathula pass bringing new winds to Delhi??
Sorry for this post being nothing more than an assortment of arbitrary sentences and paragraphs.. Something of an oblig post.. Will return to my regular self in due course..
